German special forces discover HOAX BOMB after hostage standoff with ax-wielding man & his dog at slots hall (VIDEO)

Special operations unit has tackled an ax-wielding man with a hoax bomb who triggered panic and a hostage situation at a slot machine hall in Lower Saxony. So far, authorities see no signs of "political or religious motivation."

Four people, including a manager, were inside when a man armed with an ax and accompanied by a dog entered the small gambling venue in the city of Buchholz around 11:00am local time and started smashing slot machines and threatening patrons. One of the guests failed to flee and had to barricade himself inside a restroom, forcing authorities to cordon off the area and deploy a special operations unit SEK to resolve the potentially dangerous hostage situation.

Several hours into the standoff, armed officers managed to overpower and tackle the attacker, but had to shoot his dog which charged at them amid the raid. No one else was injured in the incident.

During a search, police discovered several “containers with protruding cables” on the man's body, but the bomb disposal team said the device was a hoax.

The 29-year-old suspect was taken to a mental ward for psychiatric evaluation. While his identity and motives remain unclear, authorities were swift to rule out “political or religious motivation,” at least at this early stage of the investigation.

The Hague stabbing suspect arrested, motive still unclear

The incident come in a wake of a series of stabbing attacks across Europe on Friday. In the Dutch city of The Hague, a 35-year-old man stabbed three minors on a busy shopping street. Police have not yet ruled out terrorism, but media reports suggest that “there is no indication” of an extremist link.

In London, 28-year-old Usman Khan – who wore a fake suicide vest during the rampage – stabbed five people near London Bridge, killing two, before he was restrained by witnesses and shot dead by police officers. That attack, perpetrated by a previously convicted extremist on parole, was declared an act of terrorism.

ISIS claims responsibility for London Bridge attack – just as terrorists are being wiped off Telegram en masse

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on ISIS claims responsibility for London Bridge attack – just as terrorists are being wiped off Telegram en masse

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the stabbing attack on London Bridge. The claim comes even as the terror group’s propaganda is wiped off messaging apps.

The terror organization laid claim to the knife rampage on Saturday, according to SITE Intelligence Group, an organization that tracks extremist groups’ online presence. While IS has been known to claim responsibility for ‘lone-wolf’ terror attacks worldwide, SITE Director Rita Katz noted that the attack “bore IS-inspired hallmarks,” and suggested on Friday that the terror group’s claim may be delayed.

There is, however, no evidence to support the claim from what the UK police has so far shared with the public.

The claim was broadcast through the group’s Amaq News Agency, a propaganda outlet that disseminates its message through apps like Telegram. Just one week before the attack, Europol announced that it had successfully removed “a significant portion of key actors within the IS network” from the platform.

The coordinated effort saw the jihadi-linked accounts being removed from Telegram “at an impressive pace” in the days ahead of the London attack, Katz said. She added, however, that the group has already attempted to migrate to other, less popular messengers to try and dodge the police banhammer.

The 28-year-old London attacker, Usman Khan, stabbed five people near London Bridge on Friday, killing two. He was restrained by members of the public and shot dead by police officers. Khan – who wore a fake suicide vest during the rampage – had previously been jailed for a 2010 plot to blow up the London Stock Exchange and set up a terrorist training camp in Pakistan, but was released on parole last December.

According to various British media outlets, Khan had been seen around 2007 by former classmates preaching radical Islam on the streets of Stoke-on-Trent, under the black flag of IS. Though IS in its current form did not exist at the time, the group’s infamous ‘Black Standard’ has been flown by Islamic terror groups since the 1990s, including the Al-Qaeda affiliates linked to Khan’s 2010 terror plot.

“I had to do a double take when I saw him in town shouting and preaching about Allah – he had the black IS flags on a table,” a former classmate told The Mirror.

‘We’re working for the dark side’: Spanish firm accused of spying on Assange by German broadcaster boasted of US intelligence ties

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on ‘We’re working for the dark side’: Spanish firm accused of spying on Assange by German broadcaster boasted of US intelligence ties

A private security firm that allegedly spied on Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London bragged about its nefarious activities and ties to US intelligence, according to German public broadcaster NDR.

The troubling revelations are part of a criminal complaint filed by NDR against Undercover Global, a Spanish security company contracted by the Ecuadorian government to film and review guests at their embassy in London.

The firm is accused of using the commission to carry out a vast spying operation targeting the WikiLeaks co-founder, who sought political asylum in the embassy for seven years before his hosts handed him over to British authorities. The German broadcaster claims to have a huge cache of documents detailing the illegal surveillance operation – which also targeted NDR journalists who visited Assange.

Former employees of Undercover Global said that the company’s CEO, David Morales, didn’t try to hide his ties to the US government. Upon returning from a trip to the United States, Morales allegedly told one of his employees: “From now on, we play in the first league… We are now working for the dark side.” He is said to have traveled up to twice a month to the States to deliver materials taken from the Ecuadorian Embassy.

When asked by colleagues who his “American friends” were, Morales reportedly replied: “the US Secret Service.”

Incredibly, a lawyer from Undercover Global acknowledged to NDR that the company works with US intelligence agencies – but denied any wrongdoing at the Ecuadorian Embassy.

Government agencies in the US and Ecuador declined to comment on the criminal complaint.

Cash flies, windows shatter: Hapless bank robbers try to blow ATM up in Kiev… but overdo it on explosives (PHOTOS)

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on Cash flies, windows shatter: Hapless bank robbers try to blow ATM up in Kiev… but overdo it on explosives (PHOTOS)

A brazen bank heist in Ukraine’s capital went awry after raiders tried to blast their way into a cash-laden ATM – but the charge they set was way too powerful and took its toll on the office’s interior... and on the robbers’ loot.

The as-yet unknown culprits had broken into a branch of Ukraine’s state-run Oschadbank, having in their sights an ATM at the front door. They planted explosives on the tamper-proof machine, at which point things went profoundly wrong.

The explosion that rocked Kiev early on Saturday morning was so powerful that it caused the ceiling to collapse and the door and windows to shatter. The ATM itself was torn apart, with multiple banknotes scattered all over the place.

Police believe the robbers had to retreat before they grabbed all the cash they could and made off in an old Volkswagen Passat. It’s still unknown how much money was stolen; officers have recovered CCTV footage from the site and placed additional patrols on roads leading out of Kiev.

Oschadbank’s offices have been targeted by thieves in other cities across Ukraine. Back in September, an ATM was blown up in the city of Kharkiv – that heist turned out to be unfortunate as well, with the perpetrators losing roughly 300,000 hryvnias ($12,500) while making good their escape.

Trying, and failing, to break into ATMs using more intellectual methods appears to be a growing trend among criminals. Last year, it emerged that experienced ATM robbers in Russia reportedly offered training courses for interested parties, in turn receiving a share of the spoils from every successful robbery.

Seduced by the law: Female cop in India uses old photo & phony marriage proposal to nab on-the-run murder suspect

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on Seduced by the law: Female cop in India uses old photo & phony marriage proposal to nab on-the-run murder suspect

A murder suspect on the run from the law has been caught, after a female police officer offered to marry the wanted criminal. Police were waiting when the man arrived at what he thought would be his wedding ceremony.

Police in Chhatarpur, northeast India, had been hunting a man wanted for murder and other crimes. While authorities found themselves unable to track him down, a source informed them that the suspect had been looking for a bride – a piece of intelligence that was used to hatch an ingenious scheme.

A female officer, identified in local media as Sub-Inspector Madhavi Agnihotri, reportedly forwarded an old photo of herself to the alleged killer. After several telephone conversations, she was able to convince the man that she was seeking a husband, and proposed that the pair marry.

Unbeknownst to the suspect, police were waiting at the temple where the wedding ceremony was to take place.

A purported photograph of the arrest shows Agnihotri – who chose to wear her police uniform instead of a wedding dress – standing beside the visibly unhappy groom-to-never-be.

The suspect was swiftly brought before a local court and sent to jail.

‘He may see a REAL ballistic missile soon’: Pyongyang riducules Shinzo Abe’s poor knowledge of rockets NK fired into Sea of Japan

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on ‘He may see a REAL ballistic missile soon’: Pyongyang riducules Shinzo Abe’s poor knowledge of rockets NK fired into Sea of Japan

North Korea had some bold words for the Japanese PM, who mistook a long-range multiple rocket launch system, just tested by Pyongyang, for one of its ballistic missiles. Even civvies can spot the difference, an official quipped.

The reclusive state claimed that it has successfully tested an extra-powerful multiple rocket launcher under a watchful eye of Kim Jong-un, after both projectiles traveled a certain distance and landed in the Sea of Japan on Friday.

Tokyo habitually slammed the test as it did on multiple occasions in the past, with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe referring to it as “a ballistic missile launch” that endangers Japan and the world. Intentional or not, the gaffe touched a nerve in some bigwigs in Pyongyang.

“It can be said that Abe is the only one idiot in the world and the most stupid man ever known in history,” proclaimed a top official at the North’s foreign ministry, as quoted by KCNA.

Even civilians who have no clue about missiles are better aware of the North Korean engineering prowess than the Prime Minister of Japan, the publication asserted. A difference between a ballistic missile and a multiple launch rocket system, which is a conventional weapon, can be seen “with a single glance.”

Quoting a Korean saying that “a fool makes a rod for himself,” the message dropped a subtle hint, warning that Abe “may see what a real ballistic missile is in the not too distant future and under his nose.”

North Korea has stepped up tests of strategic weapons amid stalling denuclearization talks with the US. Preciously, in November it tested “super-large multiple rocket launchers” and carried out “real war-like drills” involving two coastal artillery units.

Smeared by ‘Israel lobby’? Dutch cartoonist scoffs after being branded ‘Nazi sympathizer’ over Netanyahu caricature

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on Smeared by ‘Israel lobby’? Dutch cartoonist scoffs after being branded ‘Nazi sympathizer’ over Netanyahu caricature

A Jewish group is up in arms over a Dutch cartoon that suggests Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to use claims of anti-Semitism against Jeremy Corbyn for his own political benefit. The cartoon’s artist has defended his work.

The caricature, published in De Volkskrant, a major Dutch daily, depicts the Israeli prime minister holding a stone labeled “anti-Semitism charges” in one hand and reading an indictment for corruption in the other.

UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is opposite him, saying: “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”

While the cartoon seems to suggest that Netanyahu has used accusations of anti-Semitism directed against Corbyn in order to deflect from his own corruption scandals, the Israeli prime minister has remained – at least publicly – largely silent on the issue.

The Netherlands-based Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) said the cartoon’s statement was “absurd” and “reaffirms the anti-Semitic stereotype that Jews are more loyal to Israel than countries where they live.”

Responding to the accusation, cartoonist Jos Collignon said that he was being labeled as a “Nazi sympathizer” for criticizing Israel and its leader.

When allegations of anti-Semitism occur, the Israel lobby is never far behind... There is no point linking modern-day opponents to atrocities from the past. We’re all being labeled as Nazi sympathizers.

Although Netanyahu has remained tight-lipped on the issue, many have pointed to Israeli links to the Labour anti-Semitism scandal. A BBC documentary on the heated political topic features two unnamed interviewees, who also appeared in an Al Jazeera documentary on the Israel lobby’s influence in UK politics. One of the individuals interviewed by the BBC about Labour’s alleged institutionalized anti-Semitism was a former employee of the Israeli Embassy.

US envoy spews vitriol as 6 more EU nations defy sanctions bypass device INSTEX & urge saving Iran nuclear deal

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on US envoy spews vitriol as 6 more EU nations defy sanctions bypass device INSTEX & urge saving Iran nuclear deal

Six European countries, among them US NATO allies, have joined an EU scheme to bypass Donald Trump’s sweeping sanctions, which ban all trade activities with Iran, raising the ire of a notorious American ambassador in Berlin.

Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, and Sweden released a joint statement relating their intent to connect to INSTEX, short for the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges, a European special-purpose vehicle. The move is to “facilitate legitimate trade between Europe and Iran,” and also to make the Islamic Republic stick by the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal.

The news –lauded by some European diplomats– earned an angry rebuke from Richard Grenell, the US Ambassador to Germany. The envoy, whose heavy-handed diplomacy has irritated many influential Germans, found in his crosshairs a tweet by Lars Nordrum, Norway’s Ambassador to Iran.

Nordrum didn’t respond to the verbal assault, but the INSTEX participants’ expansion received credit from French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves le Drian, who praised the “important decision” that will show “Europe’s autonomy of action.”

Launched by the UK, France and Germany in January, INSTEX shields European businesses from US sanctions by allowing them to trade with Iran without using dollars or running transactions through American banks.

The move was to push back against the US, which unilaterally walked out of the nuclear deal last year, re-imposed heavy sanctions on Iran’s finances, foreign trade and oil production, and designated its elite Revolutionary Guards Corps a terrorist organization.

The Europeans, instead, chose to remain in the deal, although Iranian officials have been skeptical of their attempts to protect mutual trade against US restrictions. Suicide or serial crime? SECOND woman found BURNT ALIVE in Indian town where harrowing rape & murder of Priyanka Reddy occurred

Posted by RT on November 30, 2019  |   Comments Off on Suicide or serial crime? SECOND woman found BURNT ALIVE in Indian town where harrowing rape & murder of Priyanka Reddy occurred

The burnt body of an Indian woman has been found on the outskirts of Hyderabad, not far from the place where veterinarian Priyanka Reddy was kidnapped, brutally raped and murdered by a gang of locals earlier this week.

As India recovers from the shock caused by the blood-chilling murder of the 27-year-old vet in Shamshabad, more grueling news has come from the very same town.

On Saturday morning, locals walking past the Ayyappa temple in a Hyderabad suburb spotted flames in the vicinity and approached them. To their horror, it turned out to be a woman’s body on fire. Their attempts to save her life were unsuccessful as the blaze was too intense.

Ambulances and police, now busy inquiring into the Reddy rape and murder case, swiftly responded to the call, but the woman succumbed to her injuries before they arrived.

Officials said that a matchbox and a half-burnt plastic canister were recovered at the site which smelled of kerosene, local media reported. They believe this was a suicide by self-immolation – but the woman’s body will be scrutinized for possible signs of murder or sexual abuse.

Raising suspicion is the fact that the Ayyappa temple lies roughly five miles from the location in Shamshabad where Reddy’s charred body was found on Thursday after a frantic search by her family and local police.

Hyderabad police have arrested four men, among them a prime suspect – a truck driver called Mohammed Pasha. The four are accused of forcibly taking the woman to a desolate place, raping her and then burning her corpse to such a degree that her family could only identify her remains by a locket she wore around her neck.

Reddy’s death sent shockwaves through Indian society, stirring up a social media campaign demanding harsh penalties for the accused. The victim’s relatives demanded the culprits be burnt or hanged to death, with many netizens supporting such punishment.
